Translation Intern, Global Communications Group
The World Economic Forum Beijing Representative Office is hiring translation interns for its Global Communications Group. They will assist social media content production by translating assigned materials while adhering to the Forum’s style, terminologies, and other editorial standards. The role reports to the Communications Officer.

Scope of Responsibilities
Assist in localization of Forum’s digital media assets.
Deliver high quality English-Chinese translations for the Forum’s Agenda articles, social video scripts, and other media translation requests.
Support content generation and engagements during Annual Meeting and the Annual Meeting of the New Champions.
Preferred Qualification and Experience
Currently pursuing an undergraduate (third year or above) or postgraduate degree in English, translation, linguistics, literature, or other related fields, with an outstanding record of academic achievement.
Experience in commercial translation projects is a plus.
Desired Skills
Ability to conduct high quality, manual English-Chinese translation and adept at machine translation post-editing (MTPE).
Strong time management skills and ability to deliver exceptional translations within deadlines.
Attention to detail and a proactive attitude that welcomes feedback and seeks continual improvement.
Understand and believe in the Forum’s mission and initiatives.
Familiarity with Airtable and/or Adobe Photoshop is a plus.

Qualifications and Requirements
Senior undergraduate or postgraduate student majoring in English, Translation, Linguistics, or related fields (strong preference for candidates with formal translation training).
Native-level Chinese with near-native English fluency (IELTS 7.5+/TOEFL 105+ or equivalent is a plus).
Familiarity with localization, transcreation, and terminology management; prior internships in translation/editing roles preferred.
Social media savvy – Understanding of Weibo, WeChat, and other Chinese platforms; ability to adapt global content for local audiences.
Strong attention to detail in grammar, style, and consistency.
Cross-cultural awareness – Interest in global affairs and ability to navigate cultural nuances in communication.
Flexible work schedule (adjustable) with output-based compensation.
